rapid charging
beyond the grid
Independence is what drives us.
Our mission
We can see it at the horizon. Now we are aiming for decarbonization. Put all our energy into this project. We are impatient, try to find ways and means. Moving forward is our nature. People with a “can do” attitude are with us. Those who approach us share our creative audacity. Independence is our mutual inner drive. Just do it. In Brandenburg. For everywhere – rapid charging beyond the grid.
100 h
We started series production of our Rapid Chargers in fall 2021. Since then, Rapid Chargers are available all over Germany - at any required location.
Currently, we still have a delivery time of 5 months - with a strongly decreasing tendency. We are working hard to achieve a delivery time of 100 hours.
This means that in future, if we receive an order on Monday, the first fast-charging process at your requested address will start the same week – throughout Germany-wide and unlimited. That is our goal.
We are a venture by and with Alex and Inès

About me energy
me energy is the first provider and operator of off-grid and CO2-neutral fast charging stations. The products and services of me energy enable the economic and widespread breakthrough of electromobility and thus make an important contribution to the decarbonization of our lifestyle. The company was founded by the current managing director Alexander Sohl (CEO) and Dipl.-Ing. Inès Adler (CTO) in Potsdam on February 28, 2019. Since July 2019, the company's headquarters has been located at the Wildau Technology and Science Center in Brandenburg.
Since then, me energy has been actively supported by the two business angels and investors Helmut Bröker (former CEO Porsche China) and Uwe Drechsel (former member of the management board Helios Kliniken GmbH). The Brandenburg Kapital GmbH, an investment fund of the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB), also invested significantly in the company. The technology development is supported by the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Energie (MWAE) with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the State of Brandenburg.
In 2021, all previous investors, including Brandenburg Kapital GmbH and business angels with an affinity for the industry, further intensified their previous commitments as part of a Series A financing round. At the same time, in addition to Dr. Andreas Offermann (former Head of Sales at Porsche AG as well as Sales Director at SEAT S.A. and Bentley Motors Ltd) and Ralf Michels (former member of the management board of Helios Kliniken GmbH), other investors have also funded the company.

With the business idea, the founders received the StartGreen Award in 2018. In 2019, the young company was awarded the special prize for sustainability and the best concept of the Berlin-Brandenburg Business Plan Competition (BPW). me energy won the Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg 2020 as well as the KfW Award Gründen as the state winner of Brandenburg. Alexander Sohl
CEO & founder me energy
The entrepreneur Alexander Sohl was born in Mannheim in 1990.
Alex was able to spend the years 2005-2008 with his family in Shanghai/ China, among other places, which enabled him to found 福佑宝贝 in 2010, his first company, an export and mail order business for children's supplies.
He completed his studies in Chemical Engineering (BSc./MSc.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2008-2016, followed by studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Business and Management (BSc.) in 2013-2017.
Meanwhile, Alex gained experience in M&A Consulting at KPMG in the field of Energy & Chemicals and in Battery Development at Bosch. As an independent management consultant, he was involved in strategy development for a data-based health insurance for MunichRe and in the development of a smart home business model for Thüga, among others.
Alex is a passionate e-mobilist from the very beginning. His motivation to contribute to decarbonization soon led him to initial thoughts on how fast charging for electric vehicles could be realized in a climate-neutral way and in any given location economically.
For the realization, Alex found an equally convinced and experienced co-founder for me energy in GE Inès Adler (CTO). Since February 28, 2019, they are on the mission “rapid charging beyond the grid” together with the growing me energy team.
As managing director, Alex is responsible for the strategic, personnel and commercial issues at me energy, when his involvement in numerous non-profit organizations does not keep him from continuing to push decarbonization with vigor.
For this commitment, me energy in 2020 was awarded the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Prize and the KfW Award Gründen, as the state winner.
Dipl.-Ing. Inès Adler
CTO & founder me energy
The entrepreneur Inès Adler was born in Leverkusen in 1958.
After studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern from 1984-1991, she worked as a development engineer in engine and electronics development at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart from 1991-2005.
During this time, Inès was involved in 14 patent applications, including the development of the first fully electronic diesel injection system. As project manager, she was responsible for the series launch of the first diesel soot filter system for the brand with the three-pointed star. Today, Inès is still regularly active as an expert for EU projects in the field of mobility.
In 2008, Inès founded Voxativ in Berlin, a premium loudspeaker manufacturer which is recognized worldwide. Today, she is the managing partner of Voxativ, a company that is characterized by a great passion for sound character and uncompromising quality.
With me energy, the return to climate-friendly mobility took place. Together with the current managing director Alexander Sohl (CEO), Inès founded her second company in Potsdam on February 28, 2019. As CTO, Inès is responsible for the development, testing and series production of our Rapid Chargers. Also for their self-sufficient character, of course. For this innovation me energy was awarded the Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg in 2020 and as state winner with the KfW Award Gründen.

Hardware startups need heavy-duty cranes and factory canteens. Brandenburg had both - along with energy support.
Press and media
Apparently, we not only generate fast charging power at any requested location, but also a lot of resonance in the most diverse media. We are happy about that. We will also never get tired of continuing to tell our story to anyone who wants to hear about it. But we would even more prefer to talk in interviews, company portraits, key-notes and lectures about what we still want to contribute, experience and achieve.
